Introduction to Rashtriya Military Schools

Rashtriya Military Schools are one of the best chains of schools for children who want to serve the nation by getting into National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA). Admission to class VI and IX in Rashtriya Military School takes place through the Common Entrance Test (CET) every year. These schools are known for their excellence and are a dream of every child. Eligibility

Interested candidates can apply before the last date of filling the forms. The admit cards are released by the end of November. Common Entrance Test (CET) takes place by the end of December and the results are out in a month. The session begins in the month of July. Candidates between the age 10 to 11 can apply for admission in Class VI . For admission in Class IX, candidates belonging to the age group 13 to 14 can apply. A candidate should be 15 to 16 years old for admission in Class XI . The wards of personnel killed in action get six months relaxation in upper age limit.

Military Schools give admission to fresh boys every year for class VI. However, admissions for class IX and XI depends upon the available vacancies. For class VI the student should either be currently studying or passed class V. For admission in class IX student should either be currently studying or passed class VIII from any recognised school.

Number of Seats

These schools are completely boarding type and no day boarder is allowed. 70% Vacancies are reserved for wards of JCOs/OR of Army, Navy and AF (including Ex-servicemen). 30% vacancies are reserved for wards of Officers of Army, Navy and AF (including retired Officers) and wards of civilians. 50 seats are reserved for wards of service personnel Killed in Action. 15% and 7.5% seats are reserved for SC and ST candidates in all categories. The candidates who pass the written exam go through an Interview.

Then after a medical test takes place at the Command/Zonal and other Military Hospitals shortlisted by the Director-General of Medical Services. Only medically fit students get admission into the prestigious institution. Verification of Eligibility Conditions with reference to original documents takes place only after the candidate has qualified for Interview/Admission Test. Incorrect entries or some variations at any stage will lead to the rejection of the candidature.
