About UPSC CDS
Indian Armed Forces are one of the best armed forces in the world. It commands an arsenal of modern weaponry, advanced communication systems, but its real strength lies in the men who keep the Indian flag flying high. UPSC conducts CDS Exam twice every year to induct Officers the Indian Armed Forces. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who wish to join the Indian Armed Forces and serve the nation.

Selected Candidates: Candidates who clear all the three stages and make into the merit list will receive their joining letters and report for training at the prestigious Armed Forces training academies IMA, INA, AFA, or OTA. After completion of Training they will pass out as Officers in Indian Armed Forces.
Eligibility Criteria

| Age : For IMA, INA, AFA unmarried male candidates of age 19 to 24 years. For OTA unmarried male and female candidates of age 20 to 25 years. |

| Educational Qualification : For IMA and OTA candidate must have a graduate Degree in any discipline from a recognized university. For INA, candidates must have completed graduation in Engineering from a recognized university. For AFA candidates must have degree of a recognized university (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2) or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. |

| Physical Qualification : The minimum acceptable height for male candidates is 157.5 cms. (157 cms for Navy and 162.5 cms for Air Force). Women candidates’ minimum acceptable height is 152 cms. CDS EXAMINATION : UPSC CDS Exam is conducted offline twice a year. The Exam will have three separate papers of objective nature. Paper pattern is as follows
Marking Scheme : Each question holds 1 mark, awarded for every correct answer. There is negative marking, and 1/3 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer. No marks are deducted for not attempting the question. |

Stage 2 SSB Interviews : Candidates clearing the examination will get their SSB Interview call up letter. SSB Interview is 5 day long process conducted at SSB Centres.
Candidates clearing the SSB are called recommended candidates and stay back for Medical Examinations. |

Document Verification : Candidates are required to carry documents which will be checked at SSB Centre. Candidates are advised to carry these documents in original along with two attested photo copies at venue, failing to do so might result in rejection. Please carry the following documents –
