- 10th with 45% aggregate marks and 33% marks in each subject.
For boards following a grading system, a minimum of a D grade (33-40 marks) in individual subjects or a grade that contains 33% and an overall aggregate of a C2 grade.

Indian Army Soldier GD Exam Details

SELECTION PROCESS | The Indian Army selects candidates for Soldier General Duty (GD) in two stages |
STAGE 1: In this stage of the selection process, candidates will have to go through Written Test also known as Common Entrance Examination (CEE). It is an online exam consisting of objective-type questions | |

Selected candidates: Selected candidates will get their joining letters and will have to report for Training, after which they will join the Indian Army as Soldier General Duty (GD). They will be enrolled in Arms as fighting troops, drivers operators and gunners for Infantry, Artillery, Armoured Corps, Corps of Engineers or Army Air Defence. Or enrolled in Services such as Army Service Corps (ASC), Army Ordnance Corps ( ASC ) and Army Medical Corps (AMC).
Written Test: The Common Entrance Examination (CEE) consists of Multiple Choice Questions printed in both English and Hindi. It consists of 50 Questions of 2 marks each making a total of 100 Marks. The duration of the exam is 1 hour. The paper consists of questions from four sections. The pattern of examination is as follows:
- General Knowledge (15 Questions)
- General Science (15 Questions)
- Mathematics (15 Questions)
- Logical Reasoning (5 Questions)
Indian Army Soldier GD 2027 Exam Eligibility Criteria
| Age : Unmarried male candidates of age 17 ½ to 21 Years can apply for April 2027 online CEE. Candidates born between 01 Oct 2006 to 01 April 2010 (both days inclusive) are eligible to apply. |
| Educational Qualification : 10th with 45% aggregate marks and 33% marks in each subject. For boards following grading system, minimum of D grade (33-40 marks) in individual subjects or grade which contains 33% and overall aggregate of C2 grade. |
| Physical Qualification : Height (min.) – 170 cm, Weight (min.) – 50 Kg, Chest (min.)– 77 (+5 cm expansion). Relaxation in physical standards will be provided to candidates coming from North Eastern States and Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh. Additional Relaxation might be granted to wards of service men/ex-servicemen/war widow and exceptional sports person. |
| Physical Fitness Test (PFT) : Candidates meeting physical standards will progress to Physical Fitness Test of Stage 1 at rally site. The Physical Fitness Test (PFT) will be of 100 marks divided as 60 marks for 1.6 km run ( for candidates coming in first enclosure) and 40 marks for Beam Pull Ups ( maximum of 40 marks for 10 Pull Ups) and two qualifying events of 9 feet Ditch Jump and walking over a Zig-Zag Balance. |
Medical Examination : Candidates clearing the Physical Fitness Test will appear for medical examination. Indian Army wants candidates who are physically fit and mentally strong. Medical Examination will include test for vision and hearing, knock knees, bone deformity, hydrocele, varicocele, piles and other diseases. Unfit candidates will have to appear at MH/CH/BH/GH for specialist review. |
Document Verification :Candidates are required to carry certain documents which will be verified at the Rally Venue. Candidates need to carry the documents in original along with two attested photo copies at venue, failing to do so might result in rejection. Please carry the following documents-

Written Test : Candidates qualifying Stage 1 will be called to appear for Common Entrance Examination (CEE).The paper will be Objective in nature and printed both in English and Hindi.
