Sainik School Entrance Exam 2021
All India Sainik School Entrance Exam for the year 2021 took place on February 7. The initial date got rescheduled due to the ongoing pandemic. The application forms for class 6 and 9 had started filling from 20 October 2020 to 18 December 2020. The aspirants had enough time to fill the application forms for a bright future.
National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the Sainik School Entrance Exam 2021. This exam takes place to offer admissions to deserving young boys and girls into Sainik Schools across the nation. The students who pass the AISSEE exam get admissions in class VI and IX in all Sainik Schools. It is a national level exam which is conducted every year. The idea of developing public schools for boys hailing from different backgrounds was conceived by the then Defence Minister Shri V.K. Krishna Menon in 1961. The admission procedure is the same for every school, interested children are supposed to fill the Sainik School admission form that comes out in the month of October and November every year. Then they have to take the All Indian Sainik School Entrance Exam which takes place on the first Sunday of every January, this year due to the Covid 19 pandemic the Sainik school entrance exam 2021 took place on the first Sunday of February. The results were out in a month and uploaded on the official website of the National Testing Agency. The selected candidates then underwent a detailed medical test at the civil hospitals shortlisted by the respective schools. Based on the marks in the written examination and medical fitness, the final merit lists were prepared by the schools and then they get uploaded on the official websites of the respective schools.
The academic session was to be started in the month of April but as per the government guidelines, residential schools are not open yet. Hence, selected students are taking online classes. The documents needed to fill the Sainik School admission form are Scanned passport size photograph, Candidate’s signature, left-hand thumb impression, Date of Birth certificate, Domicile Certificate, Caste/ Community/ Category Certificate, Certificate of Service (for Defence Category- serving) and PPO (for ex-servicemen). The online form fee for candidates falling under the general or category is 550/- and 400/- for SC/ST candidates.
