They academically, physically, mentally, and emotionally prepare and groom kids so that they are ready to become officers in Indian Defence Forces – Army, Navy, and Air Force. Sainik Schools are fully residential, English medium schools affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education. The Sainik Schools Society, an autonomous organization functional under the Ministry of Defence, the Government of India runs, administers, and manages these elite institutions.

Daily Routine of Sainik School Students

Pre-Lunch Schedule

  2. Morning PT (Physical Training): The day usually starts with physical exercises and drills, which may include jogging, calisthenics, stretching, and other activities to improve physical fitness.
  3. Personal Hygiene: After PT, students engage in personal hygiene routines such as showering and getting ready for the day.
  4. Morning Assembly: Students gather for morning assembly, where the school anthem is sung, important announcements are made, and the daily schedule is shared.
  5. Breakfast: Students have their breakfast in the mess hall or designated eating areas.
  6. Academic Classes: The main part of the day is devoted to academic classes, covering subjects like mathematics, science, languages, social studies, etc. Sainik Schools follow a well-defined academic curriculum.
  7. Lunch: Students have their lunch, which is typically a balanced meal, in the mess hall.

Post Lunch Schedule

  1. Extracurricular Activities: In the afternoon, students participate in various extracurricular activities, such as sports, games, music, art, debate, or other club activities.
  2. Evening Study Hours: After the extracurricular activities, there is a designated study period where students are expected to focus on their academic studies and complete their homework.
  3. Evening PT: Some schools may have another round of physical training or games in the evening to further promote physical fitness and team spirit.
  4. Dinner: Students have their dinner in the mess hall, which usually offers a balanced and nutritious meal.
