About Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas

The Government of India started the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas as per the National Policy of Education (1986). These schools are managed and governed by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. It is an autonomous organization functional under the Government of India. The online applications for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test 2022 for class 6 for academic session 2022-23 have already been submitted. The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti will conduct the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test 2022 for class 6 on Saturday, 30 April 2022. The tentative date for the declaration of the result is June 2022.

At present, a total number of 661 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are operational across 27 states and 8 Union Territories of India. The basic aim of these schools is to provide quality education to students from rural backgrounds. Scheme of examination for JNV Entrance Test

The JNV entrance exam will consist of Objective Type Questions. The question paper consists of 80 questions with a total weightage of 100 marks. The duration of the exam is 2 hours. The paper consists of three sections, namely

  1. Mental Ability Test – This section consists of 40 questions and the weightage of this section is 50 marks. The prescribed time to attempt this section is 60 minutes.
  2. Arithmetic Test – This section consists of 20 questions and the weightage of this section is 25 marks. The prescribed time to attempt this section is 30 minutes.
  3. Language Test – This section consists of 20 questions and the weightage of this section is 25 marks. The prescribed time to attempt this section is 30 minutes.

An important point to note here is that a candidate has to secure qualifying marks individually for each section. Hence, it is always wise to spend the suggested time for each section in order to qualify for that particular section. Although, students are not bound to attempt the section within the prescribed time. Candidates are free to adjust their time as they like.
