Opportunities for XII Pass Candidates of Arts Stream
The Indian army provides ample opportunities for candidates who wish to apply for the Indian army vacancy for 12th pass students of Arts stream. Army offers two types of posts – Officer level and Junior Commissioned Officer level. In this article, we will talk about both.
NDA:
The National Defence Academy is the pioneer of all the defence exams in India. It is a great opportunity for candidates looking for the Indian army vacancy for 12th pass arts students. For the Army wing of the NDA, a candidate must have passed Class 12/Higher Secondary or equivalent from a recognised board or university. The NDA exam comprises two sections, Mathematics and General Ability Test. The exam has a weightage of 900 marks. Candidates who manage to attain minimum qualifying marks in the written exam are called for the NDA SSB interview.
SSB is a five-day-long interview process that tests a candidate’s Intelligence and Personality. Many tasks and group discussions take place during this stage of the National Defence Academy selection process. Only the best ones’ are selected at this stage.
Soldier General Duty:
The soldier general duty post is where the real defence takes place. The post comprises The Rifleman, the land defence force, fighting troops, drivers, operators, gunners etc. Apart from these the post also includes the Army Service Corps (ASC) and Army Medical Corps (AMC).
Any unmarried male candidate between 17 to 21 years of age can apply for the soldier general duty. As per the criteria, the interested candidate must be a citizen of India, Nepal or Bhutan. The Indian army recruitment for the General Duty posts takes place through various rallies announced by the organisation.
The soldier general duty exam takes place in three phases – Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Medical Test and a Written examination also known as the Common Entrance Exam. The Common Entrance Exam for Indian Army GD comprises of objective type questions having four sections, namely General Knowledge, Science, Maths and Logical Reasoning.
