5 Days SSB Interview

Service Selection Board or SSB is an organisation set up by the Ministry of Defence. The SSB conducts the interviews of the candidates applying for any of the three wings of Indian Defence Forces; Army, Navy and Air Force. In this 5 days SSB interview, a candidate is screened thoroughly through different tests. The whole SSB procedure includes two stages of testing as Stage I and Stage II. The interview takes place in the SSB centres that are designated by the Service Selection Board itself.

The way to reach the SSB is not very easy as a candidate who wishes to appear in front of the board, has to secure the minimum qualifying marks separately in his written test and Officer Potentiality Test. Candidates who apply for the Air Force, have to qualify the Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS) & Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT) separately. After the written test and Officer Potentiality Test, the selected candidates appear for the 5 days SSB interview round for the final selection. https://joinindianarmy.nic.in/Authentication.aspx is the official website of SSB.

The Service Selection Board interview takes place in two stages; Stage I and Stage II. Only the candidates who manage to qualify the Stage I are allowed to appear for Stage II. In Stage I of the 5 days SSB interview, Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests and Picture Perception & Description Test (PP & DT) takes place. Stage I is a screening test. Candidates in this stage are shortlisted based on combined performance in OIR Test and PP & DT. Stage II of this interview is conducted for four days.
