What is Territorial Army?
The Territorial Army is the second line of defence that comes after the regular army; it gives chance to interested candidates to help the nation by serving in uniform for 2-3 months every year in times of national emergencies. The Territorial Army or TA army Bharti 2021 will take place as per the vacancies issued by the Indian Army.
TA Selection Process
The TA Army Bharti 2021 selection process will be as follows:
- Screening: Candidates who have successfully applied online for the TA will be called for Screening. The screening process comprises a written examination followed by an Interview. The Preliminary Interview Board (PIB) will conduct the interview at concerned Territorial Army Group Headquarters.
- Written Exam: The PIB written exam consists of two papers:
- Paper I: This paper has two sections which are Reasoning and Elementary Mathematics.
- Paper 2: This paper also has two sections, General Knowledge and English.
Each paper has a weightage of 100 marks making it a total of 200 marks. Mark allotted to each question is 1 mark. The TA army bharti 2021 exam will be an offline, pen-paper based examination. Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets are given to candidates. The question paper will be in the English language and the time duration for each paper is 2 hours for each paper. Minimum marks to qualify for each section are 40% and overall marks are 50%.
Interview Phase:
- The candidates who manage to pass the Written Examination will then be called for the TA army bharti 2021 Interview. The Preliminary Interview Board (PIB) will conduct the interview at concerned Territorial Army Group Headquarters. - SSB Interview: The candidates who pass the PIB interview will then sit for the SSB interview. The Services Selection Board interview is conducted in two stages: Stage I and Stage II. Day 1 is for Screening Test in which Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests and Picture Perception & Description Test (PP & DT) are conducted. On Day 2 various Psychology Tests take place like Thematic Apperception Test (TAT), Word Association Test (WAT), Situation Reaction Test (SRT) and Self Description Test (SD).
- Day 3 and Day 4 are reserved for Group Testing Officer Tasks in which Group Discussion, Progressive Group Tasks (PGT), Individual Obstacles, Group Obstacles Race or Snake Race, Command Task, Lecturette, Final Group Task, Group Planning Exercise (Military Planning Exercise), Half Group Tasks etc are conducted. Day 5 of the SSB interview is for Conference. In this round, the candidates sit with the SSB board members and the board asks a few general questions to them. This is to test the candidate’s confidence level.
