The Jawahar Navodaya Vidhyalaya has postponed the Navodaya Entrance Exam 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test 2021 was scheduled for Saturday, the 16th of May 2021 at 11.30 A.M. The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti will soon release the new date for the entrance exam. The Jawahar Navodaya School Entrance exam 2021 will take place to give admission to rural students who have passed the 5th class and seeking admission in 6th. 

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti

The Entrance exam for Navodaya Schools is called the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST). Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti is an autonomous institution that functions under the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India. These schools function in various districts of the country. Registration of students to apply for the entrance exam takes place through online mode. 

Exam Pattern

The Jawahar Navodaya School Entrance Exam 2021 will be of two hour duration. The test will start at 11:30 am and end at 01:30 pm and will have 3 sections with objective type questions only. There will be 80 questions for 100 marks. Additional time of 15 minutes is given to read the instructions. The three sections from which the questions will be asked are:

  • Mental ability
  • Arithmetic 
  • Language

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria one must follow to apply for Jawahar Navodaya School Entrance Exam 2021 are: 

  • Candidates studying in Class V in Academic Session 2021-22 in a Government/Government recognized school in the same district as to apply where Jawahar Navodaya Vidhyalaya is functioning. 
  • Candidate must have studied and passed classes III & IV from Government recognized school. 
  • Applicant must have studied full academic session in each class. 
  • Applicant should have studied for a full academic session in Class-V from the same district as to apply.
  • He/she must have born between 01-05-2008 and 30-04-2012 (both the days inclusive). 
  • If he/she has studied just for a day in an urban school, he/she will be considered an urban candidate. 

75% of the total seats are reserved for children hailing from rural background. 1/3rd seats are reserved for female students. 3% of the total seats for Divyang (disabled) children.
