- Gurkha Regiment: There are many regiments in the Indian army and each regiment has its own speciality. Adolf Hitler wished to have the Gurkha Regiment of the Indian Army, as per him he could have acquired the whole of Europe if he had the Gurkha regiment. This was the only regiment that could withstand the German attack during World War II.
- President’s Bodyguard: It is the oldest regiment of the Indian army, it was established in 1773. All soldiers serving as the President’s bodyguard are trained paratroopers.
- Poona Horse Regiment: This regiment is amongst the world’s three existing horse Regiment in the Armoured Corps. This is a tank regiment that took part in three major operations; the 1948 Hyderabad operation and 1965 and 1971 Indo-Pak wars and has completed around 200 years.
- Military Engineering Services (MES): The MES is one of the biggest construction agencies in India. This corps of the Indian Army built the most difficult roads bridges in the country. The Khardungla Pass which is the highest motorable road in the world, situated in Leh, is one of them.
- World Record: The Indian Army has a world record for accepting the surrender of 93,000 Pakistani Soldiers in 1971 as it is the Largest Military Surrender to date.
- Operation Rahat: This operation took place in 2013 and is the biggest civilian rescue operations carried out in the world. The heavy floods in Uttarakhand trapped many civilians in the face of death. But the Indian Army along with the Indian Air Force rescued more than 20,000 people and, provided relief material and equipment to the needy.
