Sainik School E-Counselling 2025

What is Sainik School E-Counselling 2025?

This post provides a deep insight into the Sainik School E-Counselling 2025 process, the steps of e-counselling, how to select/prioritise a school, etc.

  1. It is an online service through which candidates are able to register and fill out their preferred school choices for admission to Sainik Schools and New Sainik Schools.
  2. The E-Counselling facility is available to all students who qualify for the AISSEE 2025 examination.
  3. Admission to 33 Sainik Schools and 41 New Sainik Schools is through e-counseling only. However, only 17 New Sainik Schools will take admission in class 9.
  4. Candidates have to fill in their choices/priority of schools based on their preferences and the availability of seats. The e-counseling portal usually lists available schools and the number of vacant seats in each. Candidates have to exercise the choice/prioritisation of 33 Sainik Schools and 41 New Sainik Schools (If opted). Therefore, a candidate has to set a priority for the 74 schools (33 Sainik Schools and 41 New Sainik Schools).
  5. Schools are allotted to the candidates based on the merit list and the choices filled. The basis of allotment of seats to the candidate is the rank of the candidate and the availability of seats in the preferred schools.
  6. After allotment of a school to a candidate, they need to report to the allotted school for medical examination and document verification. The candidates confirm their admission by paying the required fees and submitting the necessary documents within the stipulated time.
  7. In case some seats remain vacant after the initial round of allotment, the e-counseling system may conduct subsequent rounds to fill those seats. This allows candidates on the waitlist to get a chance for admission.

All about Sainik School E-Counselling 2025

Sainik Schools in India typically take admissions through an All India entrance exam, followed by a centralized counseling process. The e-counseling system refers to the online counseling process conducted by Sainik Schools for admissions.

  1. The admission process into Sainik Schools is online for the Academic Year 2025-26 through the online portal.
  2. To participate in the Sainik School e-counselling process, candidates need to register on the AISSAC 2025 portal.
  3. The registration process for AISSAC 2025 counselling started on 07 April and closed on 07 May 2025.
  4. Candidates need their AISSEE 2025 application number for registration on the AISSAC 2054 portal. Hence, AISSEE 2025 qualified candidates must keep reference documents ready before the start of AISSAC 2025
  5. Candidates receive a one-time password on the mobile number and email ID registered during AISSEE 2025 registration on the NTA portal.
  6. After entering the OTP, candidates have to set their password. Thereafter, candidates need to sign in with their Application Number as their User ID and enter the password set by them.
  7. Upon successful sign-in, the system will automatically fetch the candidate’s details from the database of AISSEE 2025 registration.
  8. Candidates need to reconfirm the details. The candidate’s registration is considered successful only after they confirm the details.
  9. If a candidate fails to register on the AISSAC 2025 portal, they are not considered for the allocation of seats in any of the Sainik Schools (including new Sainik Schools).

Instructions for candidates for Sainik School E-Counselling 2025 (Choice filling/Prioritisation on the AISSAC 2025 portal)

Candidates get a window (as per the timeline on the portal) for registration (one-time only) and filling of their school choices in the order of preference. During this period, each candidate must fill choices carefully. The candidate must select only those schools that they are willing to join and prioritise them in order of preference.

Lock-in Choices of Schools

(a) Candidates MUST “LOCK” their choices on/before the last day of choice filling.
(b) Once locked, the candidate can edit the choices filled before the closure of the last date of choice filling. To do this, click on the edit option available to unlock the choices on the portal.
(c) If the candidate does not lock the choices, then the default choices, as shown on the portal, are considered for seat allocation.

Options Available to Candidates if allotted a school by the portal

The following option will be available to the candidates after allotment of the school:

(a) ACCEPT

If a candidate accepts the allotted seat, they have to complete admission formalities (Medical cum Physical Verification) within the prescribed time (As per the timeline). Failing to do so, the candidate will not be able to participate in any further round of counselling or claim admission in any Sainik School based on the merit of the AISSEE-2025 exam.

(b) RECONSIDER

If a candidate is not satisfied with the seat allotted, they can opt for the ‘RECONSIDER’ option to participate in the next round of counselling. They are considered for the remaining available seats for other preferred schools, minus the school allotted to them. However, in doing so, the allotted seat is automatically cancelled, and no further claim is admissible. The candidate will not be considered for the same School again. It may further be noted that reconsideration does not entail a change in priorities/choices for school. The Choice of schools filled before the commencement of online rounds will be considered for all online rounds.

(c) HOLD & CONTINUE

If a candidate is partially satisfied with the seat allotted, and wants to take admission in the allotted school, but wants to be considered in subsequent rounds of counselling, they can opt for the ‘Hold & Continue’ option.

(i) By choosing this option, the candidate has to mandatorily take admission in the school allotted to them by the portal. Failure to do so would result in cancellation of his candidature for admission in Sainik Schools/ New Sainik Schools for the current year.
(ii) The candidate, once admitted to the school, would figure in the merit in subsequent rounds of online counselling, for schools higher in priority than the school already accepted by him and taken admission into. (Please note, this is applicable for candidates allotted their first priority of school.)
(iii) In case the candidate is allotted a higher priority school, then they can choose to accept the school on the portal. Once accepted, the entire credentials of the candidate from the old school are  transferred to the new school, i.e., medical records, documents, and fees deposited.
(iv) This is a one-time activity for the candidate, aimed at the academic pursuits of the candidate.
(v) Once the new school is accepted by the candidate, they would no longer be eligible for seat retention in the previous school.

Saarthi – Sainik School E-Counselling Software

Shaurya Bharat Sainik School and Defence Academy, Jodhpur, has designed the Saarthi E-Counselling software. It is the first-of-its-kind software and a potent tool that will help you choose precise Sainik Schools during the E-Counselling process. During AISSAC (All India Sainik School Admission Counselling) 2025, candidates need to exercise the choice/prioritisation of 33 Sainik Schools and 41 New Sainik Schools (17 for class 9) in order of priority. The first choice is always the Sainik School entered during the online registration process. Now, the biggest concern of parents and students is to enter those Sainik Schools where there is a reasonable chance to get a call for medical. This is a very informed and calculative decision. No one can make this decision based on intuition or just behavioral aspects like distance from hometown, relative living in a city where the Sainik School is located, etc.

This decision is based on a lot of facts, like the

  • marks scored
  • category of candidate (SC, ST, OBC, DEF, GEN)
  • applying for home state or other states, gender (boy or girl)
  • The number of seats available for a particular category
  • previous year cutoff of each category in different rounds (Round 1, 2, 3, & 4)

The software will serve as a ready reckoner to find suitable choices of Sainik Schools based on the candidate’s personal information.

How to Use Saarthi E-Counselling Software?

Here is step-by-step guidance on how to use the Saarthi E-Counselling software:
