About Indian Navy
The Indian Navy is the naval branch of the Indian Armed Forces. The honorable President of India is the Supreme Commander of the Indian Navy. The main objective of the navy is to protect the nation’s maritime borders. The Indian Navy consists of approximately 67000 active personnel and 75000 reserve personnel. To further strengthen its forces, the Indian navy has released a vacancy notification for 500 posts of AA (Artificer Apprenticeship) and 2000 posts of SSR (Senior Secondary Recruit). Who is eligible?
- Educational Qualification
- AA – Candidates must qualify in the 10+2 examination from a recognized board and have 60% or more marks in Maths, Physics, and Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science.
- SSR – Candidates must qualify in the 10+2 examination from a recognized board with Maths, Physics, and Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science as subjects.
- Age Criteria
- Candidates must be born between 01 August 2002 and 31 July 2005.
How to apply and important timelines for Navy AA/SSR Vacancy Released
To apply for this vacancy, candidates have to apply online using the official website of the Indian Navy http://www.joinindiannavy.gov.in/
Online applications are open from 29 March 2022 to 05 April 2022. There is a very short application window, hence don’t wait for the last date. Fill out your application at the earliest to avoid last-minute rush and server problems. Offline application is not acceptable at all.
Selection Procedure
Candidates have to go through the following stages of the recruitment procedure:
- Shortlisting of candidates: Shortlisting of applications will take place on the basis of aggregate percentage in Physics, Maths, and Chemistry/Biology/ComputerScience. The number of vacancies allocated for each state is different. Candidates will be shortlisted in the ratio of 1:4 of the number of vacancies. Say, for example, there are 25 vacancies in a particular state, then 100 candidates will be shortlisted for the written examination.
- Written Test: Shortlisted candidates need to appear for the written examination.
- Physical Fitness Test – Candidates clearing the written test need to go through the Physical Fitness Test (PFT). The PFT consists of a 1600 m run that a candidate needs to complete in 7 minutes, immediately followed by 20 squats and 10 push-ups.
- Merit List: The merit list is prepared on the basis of performance in the written examination provided that the candidate passes the Physical Fitness Test.
Covid Guidelines
Candidates need to submit a negative RT-PCR laboratory report of COVID-19 from the Government/ICMR accredited laboratory at the time of written examination. The report should not be older than 72 hours on the reporting date of the written test.
