CRPF Assistant Commandant Exam
The Central Reserve Police Forces recruit Assistant Commandants for the smooth functioning of the force. They are recruited by the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The CAPF exam is a National Level Exam that does not just recruit Assistant Commandants for the Central Reserve Police Forces but for Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) too. UPSC has released the official notification for the CRPF Assistant Commandant exam 2021 which will take place on August 8, 2021, and the filling of online forms have started from April 15, 2021. The CRPF Assistant Commandant gets a handsome salary and this is one of the major reasons behind aspirants’ craze for this post. The CRPF AC gets 40000-60000 rupees every month.
Selection Procedure
The CRPF Assistant Commandant selection process includes three steps:
- CAPF Written Exam (Objective and Subjective)
- Physical Efficiency Test and Medical Standards Test
- Interview or Personality Test
The written exam has two papers, Paper 1 of General Ability and Intelligence which will be of Objective Type and candidates will get 2 hours to complete this 250 marks paper. Paper 2 will be of General Studies, Essay and Comprehension which will be Subjective in nature and candidates will get 3 hours to complete this 200 marks paper. There will be one-third negative marking for every wrong answer.
The General Ability and Intelligence paper will have questions from General Science (including environmental Science), Indian Politics,
Indian Economy, Indian History (including growth and freedom movements), Geographical Aspects, General Mental Ability (reasoning, quantitative aptitude, data interpretation), and National and International Current Affairs. The General Studies, Essay and Comprehension will have questions from Long narrative Essay, Comprehension and language skills.
Physical Efficiency Test
The physical efficiency tests for male and female candidates will be different. Male candidates have to be 165 cm tall and female candidates must be 157 cm tall. The chest (unexpanded) for male candidates is 81 cm (with 5 cm minimum expansion). It is not applicable for female candidates. A male candidate should weigh 50 kg and female candidates should weigh 46 kg.
Male candidates will have to complete a 100 meters race in 16 seconds and female candidates in 18 seconds. 800-meter race in 3 minutes 45 seconds and female candidates in 4 minutes 45 seconds. The long jump for male candidates will be 3.5 Meters and has to be completed in 3 chances. For female candidates, the long jump will be 3.0 meters and has to be completed in 3 chances. Shot put will be for the male candidates only and that too of 7.26 kgs of 4.5 meters.
The candidates who manage to pass the Physical standard test will be called for the Personality Test or Interview. It will be of 150 marks and will be conducted in the UPSC premises in New Delhi. After the interview, the final results will be declared. To know more visit: https://crpf.gov.in
