About the AFCAT examination
The Indian Air Force conducts the Air Force Common Admission Test, commonly called AFCAT, to recruit class 1 gazetted officers in Flying and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical). The exam is conducted twice a year in the month of February and August. Thousands of candidates take this exam with a dream of joining the Indian Air Force as officers. It is an excellent opportunity for both male and female candidates who wish to join the Indian Air Force and serve the motherland. In this post, we discuss the detailed syllabus for AFCAT examination.
Pattern of Examination
The AFCAT examination consists of questions on General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning. It is an exam of 02 hours in duration, which consists of 100 questions with a total weightage of 300 marks. Three marks are provided for every correct answer. One mark is deducted for every wrong answer. Candidates opting for the Technical branch need to appear for EKT (Engineering Knowledge Test), along with the AFCAT exam. It is an exam of 45 minutes in duration, which consists of 50 questions with a total weightage of 150 marks.

The standard of Numerical Ability Questions will be of Matriculation level. The standard of questions in other subjects will be of graduation level.
