About the Indian Navy

The Indian Navy is the naval branch of the Indian Armed Forces. The honorable President of India is the Supreme Commander of the Indian Navy. The main objective of the navy is to protect the nation’s maritime borders. The Indian Navy consists of approximately 67,000 active personnel and 75,000 reserve personnel. To further strengthen its forces, the Indian navy has released a vacancy notification for 1531 posts of Tradesman Skilled. For success in any competitive exam, one needs to know the exact pattern of examination and syllabus. Here, in this post, we discuss the syllabus for the Indian Navy Tradesman Skilled examination and also the pattern of examination.

Scheme of Examination

The Indian Navy Tradesman Skilled examination consists of five sections, namely, General Intelligence and Reasoning, Numerical Aptitude, General English, General Awareness, Syllabus as per training imparted at Apprentice School/as per NCVT in relevant trade. The total weightage of the examination is 100 marks. The subject wise bifurcation is as follows:

Syllabus for The Indian Navy Tradesman Skilled Examination

The detailed syllabus for the Indian Navy Tradesman Skilled Examination is as follows:

Section (i) – General Intelligence and Reasoning

This section comprises questions from both verbal and non-verbal Reasoning. The following topics are part of the syllabus:

Section (iii) – General English

This section tests a candidate’s knowledge of the English language. In addition to it, this section also includes questions related to Vocabulary (Synonyms, Antonyms, Idioms and Phrases, One Word Substitution), Grammar (Noun, Pronoun, Article, Tense, Adjective, Adverb, Preposition, Syntax), Sentence Structure, etc.

Section (iv) – General Awareness

This section includes questions related to India and its neighboring countries particularly with respect to Sports, History, Culture, geography, Economics, Polity including the Indian Constitution and Scientific Research.

Section (v) – Training at Naval Apprentice School in relevant trade

This section includes trade-related questions as per Apprentice School or NCVT (National Council of Vocational Training) Syllabus
