What are Sainik Schools?

Important Dates
Every year thousands of young boys and girls try their luck for a settled future. The Sainik School Society conducts an All Indian Sainik School Entrance Exam (AISSEE) every year for students seeking admission into class VI and IX. The Admission forms are generally released in the months October or November. The examination is conducted on the first Sunday of January. Due to Covid 19 pandemic this year the exam took place on the first Sunday of February i.e. February 7, 2021.
Exam Pattern
For class VI, the entrance exam consists of one paper consisting of 125 questions from different subjects. The paper comprises of questions from Mathematics, General Knowledge, Hindi or English and Intelligence (which is similar to reasoning). The duration of the exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes. The weightage of each question from the Mathematics section is 3 marks and that of questions from the other three sections is 2 marks. Hence, making it a total of 300 marks.
AISSEE exam for class IX also consists of one paper, containing five sections: Mathematics, English, General Science, Social Studies and Intelligence. The weightage is 2 marks per question making it a total of 400 marks. The total time duration for the paper is 3 hours.
