About RIMC

The Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), is a Category ‘A’ establishment, administered and run through the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. It was inaugurated on 13 March 1922 by Prince Edward VIII, the Prince of Wales. At that time, it was located on the premises of the former Imperial Cadet Corps (also called Rajwada Camp). It is a huge 138 acres of lush green area, adjacent to Garhi Village in Dehradun Cantonment. In this post, we discuss all important points regarding the RIMC entrance exam 2023.

RIMC Alumni

RIMC has given many leaders to society, both military and civil. These include four Chiefs of Army Staff and two Chiefs of the Air staff in India; one Commander-in-Chief of the Army and two Chiefs of the Air Staff in Pakistan. Admission in RIMC

The admission procedure is divided into three phases:

1. Written Examination: The written examination consists of three subjects i.e. English (125 Marks), Mathematics (200 Marks), and General Knowledge (75 Marks). The test papers for Maths and General knowledge can be answered either in Hindi or in English. A candidate must obtain a minimum of 50 % marks in each subject in order to qualify for the written examination.
2. Viva Voce: Viva Voce is a test of 50 marks, which aims to assess a candidate’s intelligence, personality, and confidence. The minimum passing mark for Viva Voce is 50%.
3. Medical Examination: All the candidates who qualify for the interview stage, will undergo a medical examination at a specified Military Hospital. Only those candidates who are declared medically fit will be considered for selection and admission to the RIMC.

Application Forms for RIMC Entrance Exam 2023

The prospectus and application form can be obtained from Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun by two methods:

1. Through online payment
2. By sending a demand draft to RIMC Dehradun drawn in favor of “The Commandant RIMC Dehradun”.

Documents Required

The documents that must be attached with the application form are as follows:

1. Birth Certificate
2. Domicile Certificate
3. Certificate from the Principal of the current school where the candidate is studying
4. Aadhar card
5. Passport size photographs

However, duly filled-in application forms should be sent to the respective State Governments as per the guidelines mentioned in the Prospectus and not to RIMC, Dehradun.
