The National Defence Academy exam attracts thousands of aspirants every year. Getting admission to the National Defence Academy is a dream for all of them but only a few make it a reality. Around 4 lakh students apply for the NDA exam each year and out of them, around 6,000 are called for Services Selection Board (SSB) interview. The NDA exam takes place two times every year, in January and August and the NDA result is usually out in May and November. This year due to the deadly COVID-19 pandemic the NDA I exam will take place on 18 April 2021.
How to check result
The NDA result for the same will be out in May. The steps to check NDA result 2021 are as follows:
- First of all, visit the official website of the Union Public Service Commission https://www.upsc.gov.in
- Tap on the result link on the UPSC home page.
- NDA result 2021 will open on a new page in PDF format.
- Candidates have to check their roll numbers and names in the PDF by pressing Ctrl+F.
- Only the qualified candidates will find their roll numbers and names in the PDF.
- Do not forget to download the result PDF and take its printout.
The NDA result is declared in two phases. First of all, the NDA result for the written exam is declared, after which the NDA final result is declared. The mark sheet of selected candidates is uploaded on the official website within 15 days of the publication of the NDA result. Candidates can download their scorecard within a period of 30 days. The scorecard displays the Candidate’s name, his roll number and sectional and overall scores.
Calculating the scores of the NDA result is not a tough task. The UPSC follows a marking scheme for that. Candidates get four marks for every correct answer in General Ability Test (GAT) section. 2.5 marks are given for every right answer in the Mathematics section. For wrong every answer in Maths 0.33 marks will be deducted and in GAT 1.33 marks is deducted.
Method to calculate NDA Score
The formula for score calculation for the NDA result is as follows:
General Ability Test- Number of correct answers x 4 – Number of incorrect answers x 1.33
Mathematics – Number of correct answers x 2.5 – Number of incorrect answers x 0.33
Candidates who qualify for the NDA written exam are called for the SSB interview. The SSB will take place in two rounds. The first round will test a candidate based on Picture Perception & Description Test (PP & DT) and Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR). In the second round, candidates have to appear for Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests, Personal Interview and Conference rounds. These rounds will consist of a maximum of 900 marks.
