The Air Force Common Admission Test is conducted by the Air Force of India twice a year, February and August. This exam takes place to recruit deserving candidates for Flying (Short Service Commission only), Technical (Permanent and Short Service Commission) and Ground Duty (Permanent and Short Service Commission) Branches. To take this exam, candidates need to fill the AFCAT application form first at https://afcat.cdac.in/AFCAT/
The fee to fill the AFCAT application form is Rs 250 for all categories and can be paid online. While filling the AFCAT application form, candidates have to enter their respective Aadhaar Card numbers. While Aadhaar Card is optional for candidates belonging to Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, and Meghalaya.
The AFCAT application form process usually starts in the month of December and is closed within a month. The documents that are required to fill the form are Aadhaar Card, Credit/ Debit cards, Marksheets of class 12 and graduation/diploma/Integrated Post Graduation, Scanned images of photograph, signature and left thumb impression.
To apply online for AFCAT, the first step is to register for the AFCAT exam. To sign up a candidate needs to enter his/her name, father’s name and mother’s name, nationality, mobile number, answer the selected question and captcha. Once the registration is successful, candidates will receive a password on their registered email ID.
As soon as you register for the AFCAT, you need to fill the detailed AFCAT application form. To fill this form candidates are supposed to log in with their registered email ID and password In this form, a candidate is required to enter his/her personal details, educational qualifications, communication details, upload scanned pictures, sign the declaration and select exam city. While uploading the images, keep in mind that the size of each file should be between 10 KB and 50KB, and the images should be in JPEG/ JPG. The candidates are supposed to select the type of entry, i.e, AFCAT, NCC Special Entry for Flying Branch. Candidates need to choose five cities based on their preference in the ‘select exam city’ column.
In the permanent address section, candidates have to enter the full address, select State/Union Territories, select city, PIN code, nearest railway station, landline number, Aadhaar Card number among others.
While in the correspondence address part, candidates need to enter the full address, state, city, pin code, nearest railway station.
The last step for applying online for AFCAT is the payment of the exam fee. Candidates are required to pay rs. 250 as examination fee using debit card/ credit card/ net banking.
Applicants are needed to select Flying, Ground Duty (Technical), Ground Duty (Non-Technical). Candidates who have graduation/post-graduation in Engineering/equivalent technical qualifications are supposed to appear in Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT). Although, the examination authority can reserve the right to allocate branches to candidates as per their suitability and vacancies irrespective of the choices entered by the candidates.
