CISF – Brief Overview

The Central Industrial Security Forces are known as the nation’s most reputed security forces. The CISF Assistant Commandant is a class-I gazetted officer on whom all the perks and benefits are bestowed upon. The Central Industrial Security Forces are regulated by the Union Public Service Commission under the Ministry of Home Affairs. The board conducts Central Armed Police Forces exam every year to recruit Assistant Commandants not just in CISF but also in Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).
The CAPF notification for CISF Assistant Commandant recruitment was released on April 15, 2021. The exam will take place on August 8, 2021.

In-House Recruitment by UPSC

The UPSC conducts an in-house recruitment every year for the post of CISF Assistant Commandant known as the CISF AC (EXE) LDCE. It is also known as the Limited Departmental Competitive Exam. Interested candidates can wait for the notification which will come out by December 2021. The online application procedure will close by the end of December 2021. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who qualify the written examination of the CISF Assistant Commandant Exe LDC will be called for the Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests. Candidates must be a citizen of India to be eligible for the exam. Any candidate who is not a citizen of India, except with the consent of the Central Government signified in writing, will not be allowed for enrolment, appointment and employment as per the rules. Candidates must be between 20 years to 25 years of age as on 1st August 2019. He/she must have been born on or after 2nd August 1994 and not later than 1st August 1999. Both male and female can apply for the CAPF Exam.

Interested candidates for the CISF LDCE must have completed 4 years of regular services in the rank of Sub Inspector(GD) / Inspector (GD) including the period of basic training. Applicant must have a clean record of services till the issue of offer of appointment. The candidates must not attain 35 years of age as on 1st August 2019. However, the upper age limit will be relaxed up to a maximum of 5 years for Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe candidates.
