21 new Sainik Schools approved by the Ministry of Defence, Government of India
As part of honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to establish 100 new Sainik Schools in India to impart quality education to children, the Ministry of Defence, Government of India has approved 21 new Sainik Schools in India. They are different from the existing Sainik Schools. These newly approved schools will function under a partnership model. The existing Sainik Schools are fully residential but out of the 21 newly approved schools, 7 are day schools and 14 are residential schools. These new schools will remain affiliated with the existing education boards and will also function under the aegis of the Sainik Schools Society and will follow the rules and regulations as prescribed by the society. Admission Process
Admission to these new Sainik Schools will be open for class VI only.
- 40 percent of admissions in class VI will be from candidates who have qualified for the All-India Sainik School Entrance Examination conducted by NTA through E-Counselling.
- 60 percent of seats will be filled by students enrolled in the same school.
For candidates who qualified for the AISSEE 2022
Candidates who qualified for the All India Sainik School Entrance Examination 2022 will be informed at their registered e-mail ids about the opening of new Sainik Schools and how to apply for these Sainik Schools. Qualified candidates who want to take admission to these schools have to register for e-counseling at the portal https://sainikschool.ncog.gov.in/ To log in and register use the AISSEE 2022 application number. Also successful registration, the candidate can indicate a choice of up to 10 schools in order of priority for e-counseling.
For candidates already enrolled in the new Sainik School
Such candidates who wish to take admission under this vertical of new Sainik Schools have to appear for a qualifying test, notification for which will be issued separately.
Important Timelines
The academic session for approved New Sainik Schools will most probably commence in the first week of May 2022.
