Selected candidates : Selected candidates will get their joining letters and will have to report for Training at INS Chilka , after completion of training they will join the Indian Navy as Sailor Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR).
Eligibility Criteria
Indian Navy SSR Eligibility Criteria
| Age : Male candidates of age 17 to 21 Years |
Educational Qualification : The Candidates who wish to apply for Sailor Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR), must have qualified 10+2 examination with Mathematics & Physics, with at least one of these subjects as optional – Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science. |
| Physical Qualification : Height (min.) – 157 cm, Weight (min.) –Proportionate to height and age, Chest expansion (min.)+5 cm. |
Written Test : Candidates will need to appear for computer based (online) written exam. The paper will be Objective in nature and printed both in English and Hindi. It will consist of 50 Questions (1 Marks each) making total of 50 Marks to be attempted in 1 hour. Paper will have questions from four sections, Check the paper pattern below
Marking Scheme : Each question holds one mark, awarded for every correct answer. There is negative marking of 1/4 that is deducted for every incorrect answer. No marks are deducted for not attempting the question. |
| Physical Fitness Test (PFT) : Candidates qualifying stage 1 will progress to Physical Fitness Test of Stage 1 at rally site. The Physical Fitness Test (PFT) will be qualifying in nature. Applicants need to complete1.6 km run within 7 minutes. They also need to perform 20 squats and 10 pushups. |
| Medical Examination : Candidates clearing the Physical Fitness Test will appear for medical examination. Indian Navy wants candidates who are physically fit and mentally tough. Medical Examination will include test for vision and hearing, knock knees, bone deformity, hydrocele, varicocele, piles and other diseases. Unfit candidates can appear at MH/CH/BH/GH for specialist review. |
Document Verification : Candidates are required to carry certain documents which will be verified at the Indian Navy Selection Centre. Candidates need to carry the documents in original along with two attested photo copies at venue, failing to do so might result in rejection. Please carry the following documents

Merit List : merit list of selected candidates will be released online. After its release candidates can download their joining letters from Indian Navy’s official website and report for training.
